Tristan Lim

Tristan is a virtual artist whose practice questions the manner in which we perceive and value virtuality and reality in contemporary life. He has participated in the Facebook Artist-in-Residence programme, and has presented work in Singapore Night Festival and Singapore Light to Night festival, and for the MADATAC X New Media Festival in Spain. His work has also been shown in Sullivan+ Strumpf & Ota Fine Arts, and has most recently been displayed at The Columns Gallery (Singapore) and Comma Space (Singapore).

The notochord is the name of a cartilaginous rod that develops into a vertebral column within vertebrates. This eventual development defines vertebrates and invertebrates- a crossroads in evolution, defining the path in which the organism takes. Notochord 01 presents a speculative evolutionary relationship with the screen, to self-images. A nod to the incisive nature of advertisements, unlikely elements are presented as screens, for display, on display.
